There are a few things of note, so here's a bulleted update:
- Preformed Thermoplastic - No official change since the last webletter was published. Preformed thermoplastic is still approved for use on airfields, but as far as I know is currently not being supported by AIP funding. According to my grapevine, the FAA intends to issue a revised memo explaining its position on preformed thermoplastic.
UPDATE Jan 20, 2017: The aforementioned revised memo has been issued, download the memo here.
- TT-P-1952F - It's the latest federal paint specification, but nothing has changed with respect to the actual paint formulations; only testing methods have been updated.
- THREE Symposiums - The 2017 Airfield Marking Symposiums have been announced and there are just three this year: FLL, SFO, and STL. Check 'em out on our website.
