Absolute ValueBy Mike Speidel     Value-added services are commonplace these days. I bought a car at a dealership last year and they charged a little
bit extra to give me permanent tags at the time of the transaction. I didn't have to make a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles,
and we all know how much time and hassle that saves. When I go to the grocery store to pick up a few things, I use the self-checkout
line to expedite my errand. Time is money, and we're all interested in saving both.

When an airport schedules construction, it often uses consulting engineers that specialize in airport design. While
experts in their field, there are often parts of the project in which engineers are not as proficient. The nuances of marking
application, for example, are generally not one of their strong suits. But let's be fair, how many airport marking experts do
		you know?

When Sightline is called in to provide engineers with the expertise to ensure quality and enforce specifications,
their client - the airport - benefits. Enhancing an otherwise normal service is what defines "value-added". Not only do we bring
value to a marking project, but we often recognize an issue before it becomes a problem not easily remedied. An ounce of prevention
is worth a pound of cure.

Sightline has been involved with dispute resolutions in the past where no quality assurance measures were in place to
monitor the marking project. I can say from experience that a poor marking project not only fails to meet the airport's expectations,
but can cost a significant chunk of change down the road as well.

With our focus solely on the markings, Sightline ensures a good application. We are up to date on the latest changes
to regulations; and we are a source of considerable information about the performance of airfield markings, including potential
problems. After all, we wrote the book on this stuff.

Unlike many marking applications, the airport gets what it's paying for with Sightline on the QA team. Everyone wins.
		It's value: Absolutely.
